FAQ

Running plan questions, answered.

Clear answers about how EzyRun starts from your current training, how the plans differ, what Premium includes, and how to adapt your schedule responsibly.

Getting started

Start with the basics.

What EzyRun does, who it is for, and how to get to a first plan.

What is EzyRun?

EzyRun is a web app that creates practical running training plans for 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon goals. You choose a race distance, date, and plan direction, then preview the full schedule before deciding whether to save it.

Who are these running plans for?

They are built for beginner runners, everyday runners, and experienced runners who want a conservative race plan with a clear weekly structure.

What race distances are supported?

You can generate a 5K training plan, 10K training plan, half marathon training plan, or marathon training plan.

How do I start a training plan?

Choose your race distance and date, select the plan direction that fits your goal, and generate the plan. You can see the full schedule first, then refine the training before saving or exporting it.

Plan fit

Choose a plan that matches the runner you are today.

The main inputs, plan directions, pacing choices, and training principles behind a useful starting schedule.

How does EzyRun use my current training?

The plan considers your current weekly running, recent long run, available days, race date, experience, and goal. The opening schedule should reflect what you can manage now rather than increasing load just because the race goal is ambitious.

What is the difference between beginner, finish-focused, and target-time plans?

Beginner run/walk plans prioritize routine, time on feet, and comfortable effort. Finish-focused plans build endurance and consistency without forcing performance paces. Target-time plans add controlled faster work and race-specific guidance when the distance and current base support it.

How many weeks are the training plans?

The default plans are 8 weeks for the 5K run/walk goal, 8 weeks for a 10K just-finish goal, 10 weeks for a half marathon just-finish goal, and 16 weeks for a marathon just-finish goal. Target-time plans vary by distance and goal.

How does the plan use my available days?

Available days help distribute running, demanding sessions, and recovery across the week. Rest days remain part of the schedule, and the plan should not manufacture extra mileage simply because more days are available.

Do all plans include pace targets?

No. Target-time plans include workout-specific pace guidance. Beginner run/walk and finish-focused plans emphasize time, distance, and conversational effort instead of forcing performance pace targets. You can use kilometres with min/km or miles with min/mile when you refine a plan.

Why is most running easy?

Easy running makes the schedule more repeatable and leaves room to absorb the training. Faster work is included when it serves the distance and goal, but an easy day should stay comfortable even when it includes short relaxed strides.

What if my goal feels too aggressive?

Choose a more conservative plan or build consistency before taking on a more demanding target. A goal time should add useful specificity, not silently force an opening load that does not match your current training.

Using a plan

A plan should help in real life.

How to adjust the schedule, record progress, handle interruptions, and use your finished plan.

Can I adjust a plan after I generate it?

Yes. Preview the schedule first, then refine training load, units, pace guidance, and plan style before regenerating it. EzyRun treats the first plan as a starting schedule rather than something that must remain unchanged.

What if I miss a workout or a full week?

Do not cram missed sessions into the next week or combine demanding workouts. Resume conservatively, protect recovery, and adjust the plan when the interruption changes what you can safely manage.

Can I track workout progress?

Yes. On each plan you can mark workouts completed, partially completed, or skipped, then add optional effort ratings and notes. EzyRun records progress without automatically rescheduling future workouts.

Can I add my training plan to a calendar?

Premium lets you download a plan as a calendar (.ics) file. You can add the runs and race day to a compatible calendar to make the schedule easier to follow.
